My boyfriend and I are going to Star Wars Weekend on Saturday. My best friend got free tickets to a private wine event at Epcot and invited me. My tickets expire this weekend so I can't postpone the trip.
this is way way way way way way way way WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too specific to make into a problem haha, BUT, ill leave you with this
is to use pictures from the parks. However…..how exactly do you want me to do that? If you guys can go to disney and stage a first world problem and send me the pictures, i would GLADLY use them but I dont think i would get enough to keep the blog running that way! I could go myself and stage a bunch of problems but…..then they would all be pics of me crying at random scenarios in the parks and it would never be any different :/ i have over 140 submissions in my inbox and getting pictures of people being sad or crying at the parks would be nearly impossible! If you have a solution to this please feel free to tell me!?
Do you think that when the construction is done and when/if the economy gets better, Disney will stop making cuts? I did the DCP in Fall 2010 (and going again this fall). Even then they were cutting some characters from meet and greets like Mushu and Jose Carioca from Epcot :-( Not that Disney isn't still magical, I just hope they can bring more of it back in the future. :-)
im sure the cuts will stop at some point…and disney is on this huge meet and greet kick so, im sure all your fav characters will be all over the place :)
But that's just it, isn't it? As long as guests still find it magical, isn't that all that matters? There's nothing to really be done about budget cuts. It's just how this country is right now. It just makes it that much more important for the Cast Members to create extra magic to try to compensate for what budget cuts have taken away. And who knows, maybe once the economy gets better, things will improve.
i think the MAGIC aspect in general regardless of money is being lost in the shuffle because of the need to run numbers thru the park….even where i work, one of our biggest magical moments, which is a free one that costs no money, has been lost in the shuffle because we are too busy rushing in numbers every hour. i agree that as long as the guests still find it magical its ok, but it has the ability to be MORE magical, and its hard to live with “what they dont know cant hurt them” type mentality and how many budget cuts and how much can you take away before its too much? a slow recession of magic might spoil the reputation in the long run, i dont think we are anywhere near that yet….but, usually when companies take things like that away and see they can live without it…it doesnt come back :(
omg the yeti. I wish they'd fix that. I heard though that the only way to fix it is to deconstruct the mountain because the yeti moving caused some structural damage or something so they don't run it. No idea how true that is though. There's a lot of rumors out there about the yeti and why they don't fix it.
yeah, its a big issue to get her out….but if walt were around, i dont think he would let that fly. i also like how i have lost 6 followers over this.
guys. so you all were cp's. awesome. I am too. no one else but someone who as been a cast member for years would be able to see the little things budget cuts do. so stop feeling all superior because you worked for the company once in your lifetime. and honestly, you don't really have a say in this. it's not your opinion so stay out of it
this is kinda mean but….i kinda really like it a lot…im ok with this
I feel sad about Disney Parks cuts. I know it's cause the American economy is so bad right now and people can't always afford to go so there is less money going into the parks and then with all the expansions in the new Fantasyland and Carsland in CA...I just don't want them to get shut down EVER! So if that means cuts, so be it.
thats a good way of looking at it, itll never close WE WILL COME TOGETHER AND WORK FOR FREE :P at least i would.
Maybe it's less magical for you because you go so often and are a cast member. I did the DCP last fall and go almost every year but I still find it magical. Personal opinion though...
most of the magical things that get cut are things you only see as a cast member…..and some of it affects the guests, its things they wouldnt know about, but its also something they will no longer get to experience because the ‘magic’ is in the small details. IT ALL STARTS WITH THE YETI.
The magic of Disney is still there despite the budget cuts. I'm an Alumni of the Disney College Program from 2010 and I'm going back this August for another term. Just because they are trying to cut back doesn't mean the magic is gone. If they take away Tink from flying during Wishes, then the Magic will be almost gone, haha.
i disagree, ive been going to disney regularly every month for the past 8 years and have been a cast member for the last 3 and it has been progressively less magical and the budget cuts have a lot to do with it….and i never said it was gone, i said its slowly running out. its not what it used to be, and thats trufax.
I agree with you on the CM thing for the 40th anniversary. Disney went SO crazy on the past anniversaries (like the car giveaways for the 15th, the cake castle for 20 or 25...) but for 40? Buttons and park maps. Buttons that were gone within the first 2 hours of the park being opened... and park maps that more than likely were thrown away more than anything. Epcots 30th is this year so maybe they'll do something good...
you know what im dissapointed about? every disney anniversary the cast members would all get special name tags to wear for that anniversary….40 years just passed at disney world last year and they didnt do any nametags…budget cuts suck big time. I hate seeing the magic slowly running out
My goodness anon! I'm not even a cast member and I know how precious those things are. I work at Home Depot and I have pins on my apron. The backs are ALWAYS falling off so when someone looses a Home Depot pin back there and I find it I get SO excited!
so ragecastmember posted a meme about how its awesome to find trading pin backs on the ground…and this anon asked them why finding pin backs is so great and they posted a gif of someone just walking away…now this anon is going to all these other disney blogs and asking why cast members like finding pin backs on the ground, im cracking up because they are creepin all the other blogs and the other blogs are playing dumb and saying IDK….just answer the poor anon lol
